In the 1960s and 1970s, OPEC successfully restructured the global oil-production system so that decision-making authority and the vast majority of profits is in the hands of oil-producing countries. The effect can be particularly strong when wars or civil disorders lead to extended interruptions in supply. The formation of OPEC marked a turning point toward national sovereignty over natural resources, and OPEC decisions have come to play a prominent role in the global oil-market and in international relations. As of September 2018, the 13 member countries accounted for an estimated 44 percent of global oil production and held 81.5 percent of the world's proven oil reserves, giving OPEC a major influence on global oil prices that were previously determined by the so-called 'Seven Sisters" grouping of multinational oil-companies. Founded on 14 September 1960 in Baghdad by the first five members (Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela), it has, since 1965, had its headquarters in Vienna, Austria (although Austria is not an OPEC member state). The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries ( OPEC, / ˈ oʊ p ɛ k/ OH-pek) is an organisation enabling the co-operation of leading oil-producing countries in order to collectively influence the global oil market and to maximise profit.

![]() There is no pay to win, it’s all purely cosmetic with no gameplay benefits for those who invest real cash into unlocking more things via the loot boxes. You can, of course, spend real money but this is absolutely not a necessity. If you aren’t happy with your cosmetics, there is also a recycling system which allows you trade the items in and have another go, which is a nice feature and very similar to the one found in Rocket League. Alternatively, you can just dress yourself up to look as stupid as possible it’s completely up to you. There are unlockable emotes, weapon skins, items and even special effects that help stylise your characters to reflect more of your personality. As you earn dosh in your playthroughs, you earn in-game currency which can then be spent on various loot boxes to gain random bits of cosmetics for all facets of the game. To make more use of the characters, there is also a loot box type of micro-transaction in the game. They add a nice comedic factor to the game as you are blowing away the vile creatures, which is always welcome. This is because it becomes rarer to hear the same lines repeated. ![]() As each update rolls out, I’ve noticed more and more interactions between the characters when playing, which is a very nice touch and makes playing your favourite character feel that bit more enjoyable. This means you can always keep changing in order to experience all of them and make a decision on who your ‘main’ is (although if it’s not Olsten Jägerhorn, the guy who has a Metallica cover band, we can’t be friends). There’s no penalty for changing characters either because your progression is separate to which character you choose. For example, there is a robot, a knight and even a Reverend, all with some brilliantly individual personalities and witty lines. There’s a pretty diverse mix of characters to choose from and you will likely find someone to match closely with your personality. The characters in Killing Floor 2 are wonderful. Here are my thoughts regarding this pretty mental multiplayer shooter. In it, you face increasingly difficult waves of ‘Zeds’, not dissimilar to zombie modes within the Call of Duty games, before facing off against a variety of bosses that are very tough to beat indeed. Instead, most of your time (and I almost guarantee a lot of it) will be spent within the wave-based survival modes. There’s no campaign or story to get lost in but honestly, I think the multiplayer is so fun most people wouldn’t bother much with it anyway. You will be playing in first-person as a survivor or in third-person as whichever type of monstrosity you choose to play as in the VS mode. ![]() As far as shooters go, they don’t get much crazier or more fun than this one. The bonus level is said to have started out as a development arena for holdout mode. The Crucible takes the simulation a step further into what can only be described as a Tron-like dimension. Initialy giving them away on his website he's about to launch a set of paid prefabs. 3DForge does an interesting thing by releasing what he calls 'Blueprints' which are essentially prefabs without the models. Things I look for are modularity but also a lot of prefabs to get me started. Stay in touch with your customers (Aquarius Max has a Discord for example) and offer to build those add-ons that people need, ideally at asset store prices (rather than at the real cost of a bespoke asset). As someone has mentioned, the danger is that you're left missing a crucial part which you can't then find or build yourself is an issue. The difficult part in creating and choosing an asset is that it needs to be distinctive enough to be worth buying but also needs ot be able to fit in with the rest of your game, and with any other assets you might buy. They were pretty much the first to bring out those kinds of assets and have a good balance between the big packs, and cheaper add-ons, and characters. Synty Studios whose assets you've linked, are definitely someone to learn from. I personally don't buy so called 'low poly' (flat faced) assets as I don't like the look but many do. As a hobbyist solo dev I don't have the time to make all the assets in my games, and I've bought a number of art packs over the years. I'm not sure how popular that approach might be, but I'd like it because it would let me prototype with your free stuff then commission more to suit my needs if the game makes it past the prototyping stage. I only have code plugins (and one shader) on the store so I have no idea how profitable art assets and packs can be, but if you're looking to make a profit it might be worth releasing a few free assets to showcase your skills and suggesting that people contact you directly to commission additional work to suit their needs. I'd definitely use that sort of thing for prototyping, but I wouldn't spend any money just for that. For example, that pack you linked doesn't appear to have a wizard character or desert environment, so if I wanted either of those in my game I'd either be dependant on that artist to make what I want or I'd be right back where I started needing to make the art myself (except now I need to reverse engineer someone else's style). ![]()
![]() Anglers must rely on their instincts and experience to know where to cast their line, essentially “fishing in the dark” to catch their prey. When the sun is high in the sky, it can be difficult to see these lures on the surface of the water. In fly fishing, anglers use artificial lures made to resemble insects or other prey to attract fish to the surface. One of the earliest recorded uses of the phrase comes from the works of the English playwright William Shakespeare, who used the phrase “fishing in troubled waters” in his play As You Like It to describe the actions of a character trying to win someone’s affection.Īnother possible origin of the phrase comes from the sport of fly fishing. The phrase “fishing in the dark” has been used in various contexts throughout history, often to describe situations where people are pursuing something without fully understanding what they are doing. Whether it’s for the thrill of catching a fish at night or simply enjoying the peacefulness of being out on the water, the practice continues to evolve and attract new enthusiasts. Today, fishing in the dark is enjoyed by millions of people around the world. Since then, fishing in the dark has become a staple of American popular culture. The term “fishing in the dark” may have originated from the popular country song of the same name by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, released in 198The song’s catchy chorus and lyrics about sneaking out at night to fish resonated with many Americans and helped to further popularize the activity. Fishermen discovered that many species of fish were more active and easier to catch at night, leading to a surge in popularity for nighttime fishing. However, the origin of fishing in the dark as a leisure activity is more recent.ĭuring the early 20th century, technological advancements such as the widespread availability of electric lighting and the invention of affordable boats made nighttime fishing more accessible to the general public. The practice dates back centuries, with evidence of nighttime fishing found in ancient Egyptian tombs and low visibility fishing depicted in cave paintings from the Paleolithic era. Customers who want to lock in the lower rate (for now, at least) retain the option of purchasing a one-year Photography plan subscription for $120, though they may have to contact support to get that rate.Īs with any test, it's possible Adobe will scrap the change and keep its existing $9.99 per month option, but based on simple math, if even a little over half of customers don't leave because of the change it's still worth it for Adobe to bump up the price to $20 per month. Though Adobe is remaining somewhat quiet about the change, the test hints at a potential future price hike for the Photography plan - namely the elimination of the cheaper, lower-storage option. At this time, Adobe has only offered confirmation that it is conducting 'a number of tests' on its website, which may include displaying certain plan options to only some customers. The change has only appeared for some customers, and as noted by PetaPixel, it's possible to subscribe to the cheaper plan by directly contacting Adobe's customer support.
